A&P

A longtime and very dear of mine just edited and released her very first photo animation and I think it's fantastic (I am also quite partial, but don't let that dissuade you.)

The one where she goes to the A&P from get it yourself on Vimeo.

Brian Dettmer: Book Autopsies // Centripetal Notion

He takes books and slices into them, creating three dimensional dioramas of the innards : Brian Dettmer: Book Autopsies // Centripetal Notion.  I would love to own one of these.

Angel Of Crows

AngelOfCrows
Originally uploaded by absquatulate.

This imposing angel resides at Forest Hills in Boston. As we approached the statue, a huge cacophony of objections arose from the trees. A large murder of crows was unhappy that we decided to investigate this awesome bronze and took off from the trees en masse; a large black swarm of them retreating to the next group of pines to harass other shutterbugs.

The sight was unnerving: a murder of crows angrily cackling away at us as we approached this stern angel. As they flew away I wondered if somehow they'd managed to grab my soul in the process.

Celery Cola: 1908 | Shorpy

This 1908 photo courtesy of Shorpy, of a newsboy selling papers and waring a jaunty Celery Cola cap, is made even better by the long shadow of the photographer.

Heironymus, now in 3-D plasticy forms!

My undying and eternal gratitude to the person who can translate these pages and tell me if normal people like me can get  just one of these.  Heironymus Bosch rocks my world.  What does that say about me anyway?
