I played Magic in the early 90s with my brother mostly. IIRC we had fun! I played a little in college (shout out to Travis and Paul) and that was fun too, but quickly fell away from it as other collegiate interests developed (depression, Cs on exams, intramural floor hockey, and insecurity!)
So this weekend I joined the crew and jumped into the game. I was really hoping to have a great time. I mean, Great Time grat time. And it wasn't. It was annoying to try and play against decks that were constructed over the course of how-long with +1 to everything with each mana tapped, for example. Pfft. It could have been fun, but it kind of wasn't and that bummed me out.
I know exactly how this sounds; someone complaining about MAGIC: THE GATHERING. God. For now I'll head back to reading Lord of the Rings and give it another shot next time.
