Hail, absquatulators!
I've been thinking alot about this blog and what you, dear readers, would be interested in reading about. Comment participation is low if existant at all so I thought I'd ask YOU what you like or dislike about this site and whether you'd want to engage each other in a conversation about it. What topics would you like to see more of? What would you like to see LESS of? More rants? Recipes? Personal tales of hand-searing? Borderline truthful accounts of everyday activities? Do you want the ability to comment on posts or could you really care less about them? Tell me what it is you like about the site, and I'll try to put MORE of that up here on a regular basis. You can put your suggestions in the comments on this post, or email them to me (Link is below on right hand side of page.)
opinion: this is what I’m finding from blogs that are "successful" - and from the posts you write that are my favorites. Its when the writer/you shares something that is uniquely personal to them. I don't mean your deepest darkest diary secrets. But something that is all yours, all absquatulate, and cannot be duplicated by anyone no matter who tries.
I don't think I ever set out to find a blog that has what I want in it. Usually, I just stumble upon them, and it either clicks or it doesn't. I think when I find a blog I like, and it resonates, its not because I'm getting what I always wanted in a website, but rather the author is offering me something I never knew I needed before.
and that concludes my opinion.

Kris, you absquatulate perfectly! I enjoy catching up on Pig stories, curious findings, and your intellecual musings. I may not leave many comments but you provide me with a much needed break now and then at work. My blog with my brothers has kind of fallen on the wayside as all of us must be too busy these days. I consider your blog a success because you seem to enjoy it.
I know Kelly enjoys the recipe sharing ;)

- Maybe you could add a hip, young character like Poochie?
- Guest pig-blogging?
- Even some sites that get thousands of daily hits attract few commenters. It's still nice that the option is available.
- Don't worry about readers' tastes. Just write about whatever you want and say exactly what you think whether or not it might turn off or offend people. I'm sure my interests are different from everyone else's, so it wouldn't help for me to suggest that you focus on one thing rather than another. As long as you're opinionated and candid, I'll keep reading.

I really like stuff about me. It's not that I am self centered or egotistic... It's just that I feel close to the subject matter. Over the years, I have really come to know myself, and I like to read about me, and to look at myself in the mirror for hours on end. Maybe you could have a daily column about me. Just my two cents.

So long as I don't see "My husband leaves dirty socks on the floor," I'm good with where you're at. Besides, ... those weren't MY socks. Yeah, that's it.
