Calling all Bartenders
Last night Pig and I went to Montage Grille for dinner. We had a cocktail beforehand and I ordered a Manhattan on the rocks. The bill came, and the Manhattan was $3.50 with a $0.75 extra charge for a "rocks pour".
What on EARTH should a "rocks pour" be more than a regular shaken and strained cocktail?
Thanks in advance.
In case you were unaware, my good tigress, ICE is frozen WATER, and WATER costs MONEY.
You're lucky they didn't charge the "unscrewing the olive jar" fee, which can run upwards of $5.00.
Seriously, though... Miguel and I would give our left livers for a $3.50 martini bar in Atlanta. I think the cheapest we've found is $6.00. :-(

Herr Tusker! How wonderful to see you on my site!
The $0.75 extra charge boggles my mind! If anything, it should be CHEAPER because they don't have to shake it beforehand. Burning that extra 2 calories by the bartender requires reimbursement for sure! Please, people tell me why!!!
Oi, $6 for a martini? When are you guys coming up for a visit? Bring your entire liver and we'll treat you to all the $4 martinis you could want (okay, maybe only one, we know what boozers you guys are. ;^)
